Kitchen

The well-equipped kitchen (we love cooking too!) is fitted with fridge, ceramic hob electric oven, microwave, washing machine, and dishwasher.  Plentiful crockery, glassware, cutlery and cooking implements provided, and lots of storage for your own foodstuffs. A fridge-freezer is in the adjoining storm porch.

Dining

The dining room has been knocked through to create a spacious, airy, kitchen-diner. The dining room has a table seating up to 9 settings (extension panels to insert as required), and a radio/CD player and iPod dock.  A range of board games are in the cupboard, and a wide selection of books are provided throughout the house.

Living

There is a cosy south-facing lounge, with a smart flat-screen colour television, and a selection of DVDs. Electric central heating throughout the house can be supplemented in winter/spring by the two cosy log burners in the dining room and lounge.  Starter logs provided.

Bedrooms

Two kingsize double rooms, one regular double,  one large twin and one single bedroom easily accommodate up to 9 people, and make it suitable for 2 families sharing, or an extended family visit with grandparents, or a group of adults.   Bed linen and towels are provided, as well as a travel cot, high chair and stair gate where required.  Please note, bedding is not provided for the cot:  we know guests prefer to bring their own bedding, familiar to little ones.

Bathrooms

There are two newly reburbished well-appointed bathrooms, one large bathroom with shower bath, washbasin and toilet, and the other a shower room with electric shower, toilet and washbasin.

Garden

The kitchen overlooks the  large enclosed back garden with patio and lawn, garden furniture and barbecue - a private haven for when the tide is in.  The large wooden outhouse play 'den'  has games and toys (including table football, pool and table tennis) so it can be used by the younger guests, as well as the young at heart!  The storm porch is also a great place to store coats, wellies and boots etc en route into the house, especially when returning from the beach or a walk.

The den can also be used as secure storage for bikes, surfboards, and other activity equipment.

Parking

A big plus in any seaside village is the paved drive with off-street parking for 2 cars - which makes your arrival and unloading as easy as can be. In addition, for any additional cars there is a large public (paying) car park along the road at the top of the bank, which has electric recharge points;  and another public car park at the bank bottom, by the beach.  Please note this is very busy in peak holiday periods.

Local facilities

Alby House is so handy for the beach, just over from the road and path down to the beach which is a slope, no steps, for easier access.  And the local pub is just a few doors away. On a practical note, for daily provisions there is a butchers and grocers in Hinderwell; a Coop supermarket on the main road just before Staithes, and a range of stores and shops in Whitby.

Please note

Accommodation is over 3 floors, with facilities on the first floor, accessible only by staircases which may be challenging for anyone with mobility issues.
